Video: Ferrari 275 GTB and AC Cobra 427 discovered – The $4million barn find
Just when you think all the most significant barn finds have been uncovered, this happens. Watch as Hagerty’s Barn Find Hunter Tom Cotter visits the sight of a Ferrari 275 GTB/2 and genuine AC Cobra 427 discovery.
The thrill of uncovering a rare car under a dusty sheet or in a dilapidated barn can be exhilarating, and Hagerty’s video series – Barn Find Hunter – follows Tom Cotter around the USA seeking out such discoveries. The latest episode follows Cotter as he investigates a condemned North Carolina garage, with a selection of cars that have been parked up since 1991.

Entering the garage, Cotter quickly realises that this could be the most substantial find that the Hagery web series has ever come across. First up is an alloy-bodied 1967 275 GTB/2, covered in more than 25 years worth of dust. The unusual configuration of two-cam Colombo V12 with the alloy body – normally associated with cars used for racing – is apparently original, as is the 13,000-mile reading on the car’s odometer.
Cotter, who is clearly more of a Cobra expert, then starts to investigate the 427. As he looks over the various numbers, the car looks to be correct and original. A family of mice have been living in the boot and glove box, although it looks in surprisingly good shape.
