An excellent opportunity to purchase an Elva Mark 7 with a fully-known ownership history, old original SCCA log book, proper chassis plate and on record with the Elva Registry in England. Thirty years of outstanding race prep by a top race shop. Low time on chassis and zero hours on engine rebuild. Raced many times at historic races including: Monterey Historics, Sonoma Historics, Portland Vintage Racing Festival, Pacific Northwest Historics and others.

In wonderful race condition having been well cared for by VRM, a professional race shop in Redmond, Washington. Starting with a bare chassis up restoration in 1991 it has received consistent race prep while being campaigned ever since. Then again around 2016, a bare chassis rebuild of all components: suspension, SPAX Shocks, brakes, rose jointed suspension for better alignment, upgrade to 7S specification with Girling AR Calipers and larger uprights, large front radiators and oil cooler. Hewland 5-speed with limited slip differential. Chassis well set up, good spring rates and alignment from years of experience. Has excellent race preparation and restoration receipts. About 20-hours time on chassis, a Jay Ivey engine rebuild of Lotus 1600 twin cam with good power curve torque, reliability and about 175 bhp with no time on it.

Elva Factory records show build on June 23, 1963 with red body color, Coventry Climax engine and Hewland 5-speed gearbox. Delivery via air freight to Carl Haas, the Elva distributor in Chicago, Illinois. Selling to first owner C.W. “Buzz” Appleby of Northern California. Appleby raced the Elva along the West Coast with the Climax engine and later a Ford pushrod 1150 cc engine. The second owner, Butch Owsley of Aptos, California ran the Elva, still red, but with gold leaf trim. Owsley was quite successful in regional SCCA competition. Owsley sold the car to Bunny Ribbs (the father of Willy T. Ribbs who raced in IMSA, SCCA and IndyCar). Ribbs had success racing an Elva Mark 6. Ribbs sold the car to Jack Blake of Point Richmond, California in 1972. After campaigning the Elva in SCCA competition until 1975, Blake sold the car to Tide Ebbings of Oakland, California. The Elva left California for the first time when selling to Norm Martin of Lakewood, Colorado in the early-1980s. Martin sold the Elva to its current Seattle, Washington-based owner around 1983. The present owner has owned the Elva for close to 35 years. The Elva has an extensive history file, including an SCCA log book from the early 1970s.
